Position Description:

Position Summary:

The Director – Forecast NII Analysis role helps key stakeholders understand the AIG Consumer business by providing financial analysis of investment forecasts to lines of business, Consumer senior management and AIG corporate. This role has full ownership of the data consolidation, analysis and reporting of these results.

Organizational Structure:

This position reports to the Head of Consumer Forecasting and Capital Management team. The role will work in a collaborative manner with the other members of the Global FP&A team and the CFO teams supporting the AIG Consumer Line of Business (LOBs). There is significant interaction with the Asset Management Group (AMG) and a number of finance teams including Investment Accounting, Controllers, Actuarial and Tax.

Performance Objectives:

• Explain forecast NII and Derivative results by LOB, legal entity and in total: vs Actuals, vs Budget, vs Previous, vs stress scenarios, etc.
• Conduct analysis on drivers of forecast changes, including the effects of insurance reserves on portfolio levels and surplus allocations.
• Provide executive level summaries with key drivers, takeaways and management actions. Address all Investment and Derivative questions from our LOB finance teams, Consumer management, AIG Corporate and other customers.
• Oversee the data flow into and out of a number of AIG databases.
• Compute and process surplus allocations.
• Perform deep dives into these databases to answer customer questions, when necessary.
• Create new or modify existing analyses to meet customer needs.
• Most immediately process improvements need to be implemented to reduce production/validation cycle time to be a minimal part of the overall process.
• Develop and maintain effective internal relationships with AIG’s Asset Management Group, the LOB Finance teams, and other units.
• Teach effective analysis techniques to junior members of the Forecasting and Capital Management team.


Position Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

• 5+ years of background in investment analysis and/or forecasting.
• Solid knowledge of Consumer insurance products (Life, Health, Annuities, Auto, Warranty & Personal Property).
• Strong knowledge of fixed income investments and investment / derivative accounting.
• Strategic and analytical problem solving skills.
• Successful at managing and meeting project deadlines.
• History of successful process building and improving.
• Strong technical expertise with uploading to and querying database systems.
• Strong process improvement experience to shave cycle time and create automation wherever possible.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and Statutory accounting for insurance company investments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels and locations.
