Business Managerwill supervise all Business Office activities for a high-volume, multi-physician, multi-location practice.Job Profile: This position manages the patient financial services function for a specialty, large multi-physician multisite clinic. Must be a self-motivated team player with significant experience in revenue cycle management including coding, charge capture, time of service collection, insurance eligibility and benefits verification, claims, submission and management and accounts receivable management.Manages and oversees performance of business office personnel including collections, coding and claims, data entry, posting, insurance verification and patient registration. Develops departmental policies and procedures and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.Ensures accuracy and completeness of work, efficient staffing levels, and effective training of employees. Understands the terms of the Clinics managed care contracts and is able to provide analysis pertaining to contract terms and ensure compliance with contract requirements.Adheres to Clinic policies and procedures and the Code of Conduct. Provides excellent customer service and positive outcomes during conflict resolution.Is familiar with Medicare regulations and HIPAA guidelines.?Responsible for management ofstaff including recruiting, training, and monitoring the quality of work and productivity.Responsible for developing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls; also responsible for training and ensuring staff compliance with Clinic and departmental policies and procedures and the Clinics Code of Conduct.Responsible for ensuring customer service is compliant with all laws and regulations. Responsible for directing the activities of payment identification and posting both manually and electronically, cash reconciliation and deposits, credit balance management and the monthly close report.Develop, implement, and directcontinuous quality improvement projects across the teams and adjust practices based on results. Monitor accounts receivable activity and initiate appropriate corrective measures as needed. Reconcile account activity and prepare daily and monthly reports.Provide administrative support to physicians and administration as needed.Achieve business office financial goals as published monthly, quarterly, and annually. Responsible for establishing appropriate internal controls insuring compliance with such controls. Participate in required billing and coding education/training. Adherence to and supportCompliance policies, procedures, goals, and intent, and all regulatory requirements.Provide support as needed to other departments and committees.Demonstrate support to Clinics commitment to provide exceptional customer service and increase patient volume.Exercise prudent business (link removed)mitment of time and energy. Demonstrate creativity and a willingness to change and adapt as needed.Demonstrate a long-term focus.Essential Skills and Knowledge:Bachelor degree in Business or Healthcare Administration from an accredited university and Masters in Healthcare Administration preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in management of business office in a hospital setting including multiple lines of reporting. Experience developing and managing a departmental budget. Experience developing and implementing departmental policies. Experience hiring and managing employees.Working knowledge of CPT/ICD-9, ICD-10, managed care payers, and Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) regulations. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent customer service and customer satisfaction skills. Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects. Demonstrated ability to use analytical skills for troubleshooting and problem solving. Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and listening. Excellent computer skills NextGen is a plus. Strong expertise with Medicare and managed care payers. Basic knowledge of accounting principles. Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
