The firm has recently been named to the Inc 5000 list of the nations fastest-growing private companies in addition to the Houston Business Journals top 100 fastest growing companies in Houston.Summary:Our client is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join the Managed Accounting Services practice. The practice includes a group of experienced accounting professionals who provide outsourced accounting and financial consulting services for clients across a range of industries. This position is ideal for accountants with previous public accounting or non-profit/corporate accounting experience seeking a dynamic role that balances core finance, accounting and operations work with opportunities to contribute to client development. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with 1 to 4 years of recent public, corporate or non-profit accounting experience.The Staff Accountant is responsible for the processing of client accounting data and basic account reconciliations while ensuring proper internal controls over client assets, and timely collection of receivables and payment of obligations.Responsibilities: Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting operations within the organization. Obtain a working knowledge of accounting software packages. Process client cash receipts, accounts receivable invoices, and accounts payable on a recurring basis. Maintain client accounts payable file. Gather necessary information and process client year end 1096 and 1099 forms. Assist the Supervising Senior Accountant or Senior Accountant with month end account reconciliations. Assist with the formatting, preparing, and analyzing of monthly financial statements. Assist with the preparation of audit schedules, confirmation letters, etc. Assist with responding to auditor inquiries.Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is preferred but not required. 1 - 4 years of f experience in all facets of accounting including GL, AP, AR, PR, reconciliations, preparation of financial statements and variance analysis. Ability to excel with policies and procedures, proper accounting and retaining necessary documentation for recorded transactions. Experience in performing or assisting with the month end close. A service mentality to non-finance departments and a good understanding of non-profit accounting standards, issues, internal controls, and processes. Ability to work independently on client assignments. Strong time management, organizational, attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.Location:Houston, TX
