Purpose: Assist in the resolution of tax exemption issues for both residential and commercial customer accounts. Assist in coordinating the process of capturing and maintaining tax exemption certificates as required by State taxing authorities and record retention procedures. Respond to customer, vendor, and agent inquiries in an effective, timely, and courteous manner. Provide other tax support as needed and / or assigned.
Review, research, and resolve potential tax exemption concerns for residential and commercial accounts.
Determine the root cause of customer issues or concerns identified within SAP including put not limited to, address information, jurisdiction coding, enrollment issues, PUC complaints, ownership changes, special taxing areas, etc.
Analyze current Tax Exemption forms for multiple states.
Update and validate tax data integrity across systems to ensure accuracy.
Proactively work with external and internal groups in regards to information requests and issues resolution to ensure timely resolutions.
Provide support for audits, special assignments, projects and other tax issues as assigned.
Bachelors Degree, in Accounting or Finance preferred
Ability to consistently use initiative and good judgment to complete assigned tasks
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team oriented environment
Experience with SAP and Siebel preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Tools, especially Word and Excel.
Industry expertise, experience with sales tax and gross receipts taxes a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple demands and thrive in a collaborative environment.
