General Information
Reporting to the Vice President of U.S. Gas Technical Services, this position is responsible for complex and confidential administrative assignments. As such, this role requires a high level of professionalism and a sense of urgency. The successful candidate will also possess strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach. Further, this role will involve significant interaction with external agencies, the public, and external service providers.

Responsibilities
:Provide general administrative support;
:Act as a liaison between the Vice President and other Senior Executives and their Assistants;
:Demonstrate considerable autonomy and judgment in coordinating priorities and meetings, managing schedules, booking appointments and business travel arrangements for the Vice President;
:Prepare, format, and coordinate reports and presentations for internal and external audiences;
:Assist in the management of routine workflows between the Vice President and the department staff;
:Manage high volumes of emails for leader, including prioritizing and responding independently to requests as appropriate;
:Budget forecast preparation, analysis and recommendations;
:Execute various processes for department, including organization and position management, utilizing workforce and SAP software suites for requests and information management as well as department moves and office planning;
:Complete timesheets and expense reports as required;
:Handle highly sensitive and confidential information and issues in an appropriate and professional manner;
:Manage information and reports including electronic filing;
:Maintain critical filing systems, contacts and databases;
:Direct sensitive issues to appropriate executives;
:Build good relationships with key internal/external parties;
:Main point of contact for internal and external parties;
:Handle e:mails and writing responses to external parties as required;
:Maintain contacts and schedules for external Board commitments;
:Planning and setup of events as required for the department;
:Track and follow up on action items, invitations, correspondence and documents for signature;
:Review, develop and implement departmental administrative processes and training on systems where applicable for new and lesser experienced associates in the department;
:Lead the development of both internal and external presentations;
:Other duties as required.

Qualifications
:High degree of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality;
:Demonstrated scheduling and time management skills;
:Sound judgment and the ability to work independently with little direction;
:Proven organizational, planning and prioritization skills;
:Must be capable of working and communicating comfortably and effectively at all levels of the organization;
:Possess tact and diplomacy while working positively with others;
:Strong business acumen;
:Ability to represent TransCanada effectively to external parties;
:Ability to work extra hours certain times of the year as required;
:Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast paced environment;
:Proven interpersonal skills;
:Excellent written, proof reading and editing skills;
:Proactive, takes initiative, and is creative at identifying process improvement opportunities;
:Strong attention to detail;
:Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word;
:Excellent presentation skills;
:Must be comfortable working in a deadline:driven environment with constantly changing priorities.
