Infodat Digital is looking to add a talented Embedded Software Developer to our team in Houston, TX. The engineer will work with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industrial Instrumentation / Automation Control systems and technologies. In this role, the person will work on developing Software technologies that can connect Greenfield and Brownfield Automation / Instrumentation equipment to Industrial Cloud Services like Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, GE Predix etc. The role focuses on the IIoT at the edge, including the devices, predominantly using National Instruments (NI) LabVIEW.
The person will be responsible to develop software for data acquisition and transmission over different communication channels into a data cloud as well as design and implement custom solutions to various clients. The person is expected to work with interdisciplinary teams ranging from IT and OT side; understand upcoming technology trends and methods for connecting Industrial IoT devices into Cloud Services.
Strong expertise in developing Industrial IoT technologies using LabVIEW.
Design and implement embedded software for instrumentation, control and automation, including Real Time data acquisition systems using LabVIEW.
Program and develop software to interact with Azure IoT Hub, Amazon IoT, GE Predix
Knowledge in developing custom libraries, SDKs, APIs from LabVIEW to Cloud Services
Knowledge in applying RESTful APIs, MQTT APIs, JSON, TCP/IP, AMQP, RabbitMQ, IoT (MQTT, CoAP) protocols and other Industrial (Modbus, PROFINET, SERIALBUS, OPC UA) protocols in Industrial Solutions
Knowledge of using NI tools like Web UI Builder, Datadash, Measurement Studio, DIAdem
Conduct System Integration, Installation, Commission Testing and Automation related field work at Client site on an as needed basis
Participate in requirements gathering meetings with client; liaise with
Instrumentation/Automation vendors and assist in writeup of Technical Proposals /RFQs
Evaluate 3rd party Web/Cloud Connectivity Tools and APIs for integration with Labview
Develop technical documentation like White Papers, Research and Test Reports, Presentations, Articles for publishing in Trade Journals, Magazines etc
Develop Project / Marketing / Products and Services / Training related documentation
Follow department policies, upholding highest ethical values and code of conduct in day to day activities and interactions with team members and Clients
Ability to understand overall System P and ID diagrams; develop AutoCAD dwgs as applicable for proposals.
Knowledge in provisioning, commissioning, and remote device management in IIoT landscape.
Knowledge of Matlab, C, C++, Visual Studio, Python, C, Real Time Operating Systems with ability to model systems and conduct simulation preferred.
Ability to understand Microprocessor and DSP based hardware design; ability to read and understand schematics and manufacturer datasheets of components.
Experience in using various hardware and software tools used in development and debugging; like emulator, simulator, modeling, scopes, logics analyzer, etc.
Working knowledge of Controllers, PLCs, Servers, Gateways, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Satellite and Radio telecommunications hardware.
Minimum 3 years work experience. Bachelors / Masters degree in Electrical / Electronics /Instrumentation / Computer Science / IT/Software
Engineering/Industrial Systems Engineering /Mechanical Engineering fields. Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US.
