Position Summary: Holds direct management authority and accountability to execute policies and operational initiatives for a department, group of departments, or functional area. Responsible for developing and sustaining relationships within the college and the community at large. Provides strategic leadership in the development, integration and execution of all external relations activities, to include internal and external communication, media relations, constituent and community relations and image and branding. Designs, develops and implements external relations programs and provides oversight for the college master calendar and strategic plan. Job Functions: Develops and implements college communication and marketing plan, including advertising andpublications Provides leadership and vision to create a strategic plan for community relations including, but not limited to marketing, media relations, publications, events and outreach Provides expertise and material support for the coordination of campus communications, events and public relations Serves as college spokesperson and main contact with the media, ensuring messages are positive and in the best interest of the college. Acts as point of contact in event of emergencies, develops and implementscollege crisis/emergency communicationplan Coordinates with the VP of Student Success regarding activities of college call center to integrate college marketing with the call center Provides oversight of the college website Responsible for all special events, supporting internal and external use of campus facilities Develops and implements college brand within community, serves on community taskforces, boards or committees related to college interests, and advises college leaders on appropriate image brand-building activities and techniques Provides leadership and oversight in the development and execution of college master calendar and strategic plan With leadership team, develops and implements a strategic plan for comprehensive student recruitment and retention. Provides leadership to a cross functional implementation team including academic and student services leadership teams and including credit and continuing education courses and programs, corporate training and economic development services, and cultural events for the internal and external community Develops plan and mechanisms to gather feedback from students, employees and the community on college effectiveness and service to allow the college to meet its goals in responsiveness Develops strategic plan to expand successful enrollment of underserved and minority constituencies Responsible for annual development and management of area budget Prepares and analyzes information on institutional effectiveness, community demographics and needs, strategic planning, and benchmarking Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field required Must possess strong writing and public speaking skills Demonstrated expertise in advertising, marketing, promotion, supervision of office staff and web marketing Critical thinking and problem solving skills required Ability to plan and implement effective, collegiate public relations and college advancement strategies Demonstrated success as a team leader and project coordinator Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a student-centered, team-oriented environment Physical Abilities: Minimal physical effort is required Salary: $84,502 Work Schedule & Conditions : Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazard Duration of Job Posting: Open until filled Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of related work experience; at least 3 years in a management or director- level position Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree Experience as a public relations or college relations director Benefits Marketing Statement : By joining our top-notch institution, you will enjoy being a part of an organization that offers a supportive, collegial work environment and excellent work/life balance.
