Healthy individuals needed for research study. You will be compensated for your time.

The purpose of this research study is to assess the effectiveness of Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation (tACS) in probing for brain function. tACS is noninvasive (electrodes are placed on the scalp), nonconvulsive (no seizures are induced), and well-tolerated. You will attend one session to complete the study and you will receive transcranial alternating current stimulation while you rest and while performing a simple computer task. You will be wearing an electrode cap throughout the experiment. Brain activity will be measured using electroencephalography (EEG). You will also provide a blood sample for genetic testing. Only one visit is required for the study: It will take a total of approximately 3.5 hours (0.5 hour screening test 3 hour experimental session). Compensation will be provided.

Healthy Controls
• Must be African American
• Between 21 – 40 years old.
• No lifetime history of psychotic, mood, or anxiety disorder
• No first-degree family history of schizophrenia spectrum Axis I disorder or mood
disorder with psychotic features
• Not abusing drugs or alcohol
• Not pregnant or in postpartum
• Normal or corrected to normal vision, including full color vision
• No History of Head Trauma
