Spinnaker has an immediate opening for a Director, Human Resources at their Houston, TX headquarters. This position, under supervision of the VP, Shared Services, is responsible for the effective operation of all human resource management related activities at Spinnaker. This includes a very diverse workforce across all legal business entities in the US and across the globe.

Primary Responsibilities:
Review and recommends improvements to current organization’s policies, procedures, and practices pertaining to employee matters.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends, employment legislation and ensures organizational compliance.
Maintains responsibility for organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Maintains strategic alignment with HR and business units across all entities.
Defines and manages a consistent compensation strategy and structure across all entities.
Defines and manages a consistent performance review and professional development process across all entities.
Consults with legal counsel, as appropriate.
Ensures consistent and timely on-boarding and off-boarding processes and activities across the organization.
Supports the professional development of employees and develops training and development opportunities for employees across all entities. Develops methods to reward and retain employees. Works with business leaders regarding workforce and succession planning activities.
Supports recruiting activities at the firm and ensures a consistent application of processes and procedures across all entities.
Works to maintain a sense of “connectedness” across our geographically distributed employees.
Oversees all HR related vendor relationships and contracts, which may include PEO, benefit broker/advisor relationships and advise on best solutions for Spinnaker businesses and employees.
Lead all Human Resources activities regarding new acquisitions and major business expansions.
Communicates changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures compliance is followed.
Ensure employee files and HRIS systems are maintained and compliant
Supervise and oversee the professional development of employees within Human Resources department.

International HR experience, including basic understanding of international employment law

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Master’s degree preferred
15 years of generalist experience with increasing breadth of responsibilities
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
