Position Description:

The Plan Document Team is responsible for the production of plan documents and amendments to exemplify the provisions of retirement plans such as 403(b), 401(k), Money Purchase, and Profit Sharing Plans. The Manager of the Plan Document Team reports to the Associate Director of VALIC Institutional Services and has 10 direct reports.

Position Overview:
The Manager of the Plan Document Team ensures that organizational objectives are met by planning, directing, and controlling the activities of a unit or units within the department. This individual launches projects in order to effectively manage all business and technical requirements and leads performance management efforts to identify and work through barriers to achieve consistent improvements. They also oversee workflow on a departmental level, to ensure that all departmental and regulatory deadlines are met and monitors and resolves ongoing issues with high touch, high profile clients. This individual stays current on changing defined contribution plan document requirements. The manager will frequently participate in client meetings pertaining to plan documents.

This position is responsible for:
- Developing new, creative and resourceful solutions to business problems and fostering original thinking in others
- Effectively communicates a clear, compelling vision and uses it to motivate others
-Facilitating continuing technical training for team members

- Internal/External Communications – high levels of communication is key to presenting a cohesive, united service organization
- Changing document requirements driven by regulatory and law changes
- Process changes with regard to 403(b) regulations
- Diverse plan types requiring documents
