I've been taking classes with Travis since 2014. He is not only an accomplished guitarist and comprehensive teacher; he is also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

I'm an unambitious guitarist who only plays for fun and to relax after work. As my guitar teacher, Travis is perfect as he can patiently teach me any song I would like to learn from classic rock to extreme prog metal. For somebody else who may be an aspiring musician considering a career in music, Travis would likely be an even better fit as a guitar teacher. With his long experience as a touring musician and recording artist, he can provide invaluable knowledge in both guitar playing and the music industry. He also has a lot of good stories to share about life on the road with other famous musicians.

Travis is flexible, affordable and easy to work with. I would recommend him as a guitar teacher for all skill levels and goals.

After a half-hearted attempt to learn to play the guitar when I was younger, I started taking lessons from Travis about 8 years ago. Travis has taught me everything I know about the guitar and has worked with me to master the fundamentals of the instrument, as well as working on songs from many musical genres-rock, classic rock, country, jazz, and, of course, metal. In addition, Travis has taught me about equipment (amps, speaker cabs, software, effects, and, of course, guitars), giving me the ability to decipher what I am hearing when I listen to songs I want to play and helping me equip my music room. We have worked on all types of guitar styles, from fingerpicking to picking techniques for seven-string guitar, and Travis continues to push me to improve and learn. I should also point out that Travis is far too modest in his bio. You only have to spend a few minutes on youtube or other sites to see how accomplished Travis is as a guitarist and how frequently he is featured or mentioned in top guitar publications. I still find it amazing that I have the opportunity to learn from someone who is so extraordinarily skilled. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Travis is a nice guy and very easy to work with. He listens to his students, figuring out what they would like to learn and the best approach to accomplish each student's goals. Guitar-lesson day is easily the highlight of my week, due solely to the effort Travis has made to make me a better guitarist.

I've been taking lessons with Travis for about 3 years. I started with the intent of reinforcing what techniques and theory I already knew and well, there's always more to learn. Travis is a fantastic teacher and guitarist. He's helped me not only with my playing, but getting the most out of my gear, too. And, as stated by others, he really is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

I've only had one lesson, but so far, I really like Travis. The practice exercises make it sound like music already (instead of noise). Thank you!!

I've been playing guitar for a few years now and finally decided to start taking lessons, and I could not have found a better teacher. I've always struggled with theory but Travis explains everything clearly and simply and shows you how to "connect the dots" to implement everything into your playing. He's an amazing guitarist as well, and each lesson I leave inspired to try something new. Even in the short amount of time I have been taking lessons my confidence in my guitar playing has increased dramatically.
