Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer to join our workforce in our Houston, Texas location. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide compression equipment selection options to meet system expansion needs on mainline gas transmission pipelines. This role also supports operations and gas control to troubleshoot compression performance issues.

:Size, select, and compare best fit options for new, modified, or replacement compression equipment including centrifugal or reciprocating compressors; electric, turbine, or reciprocating drivers; Voith gearboxes, and gas coolers to efficiently meet project development needs across the expected operating range.
:Review compressor vendor surge/recycle /fast stop valve sizing and confirm or revise the recommendations.
:Support Facility Planners in review of compressor design parameters used in the hydraulic models and troubleshoot compressor modeling problems. Provide Facility Planners with up to date centrifugal CSV files for use in their modeling of current and planned compression facilities.
:Gather and evaluate installed reciprocating and centrifugal compressor additions, modifications, or replacements using historic data to ensure project goals and vendor guarantees were met. Develop recommendations for improving performance as needed.
:Participate in factory acceptance tests, field performance tests, and some commissioning activities
:Work with E and C to review and comment on drawings, scopes, and proposals. Participate in design and drawing reviews reguarding compression.
:Maintain in:depth understanding of equipment and apply problem solving techniques to identify and correct equipment problems or inefficiencies.
:Understand environmental air permit requirements for different areas to support equipment selection options.
:Be aware of business and industry trends and technical advances that can be used in equipment design and selection to create a competitive advantage.
:Identify training needs within the company and provide and/or coordinate external/internal training to address them.
:Develop and maintain relationships with equipment vendors, Engineering, Tactical projects, and operations. Provide high level of compression expertise to these teams.
:Maintain data base for all compressor packages along Transcos system. Data includes compressor size and type, drive type and horsepower, aero map/compressor cylinder data sheets, gearbox type and operating maps (if applicable) and included surge/fast stop valve information.
:Maintain and update vendor software used to size and select compression and compression equipment; Solar Turbine and Ariel Performance, Hudson Gas Cooler Sizing, Mokveld, Becker and Fisher Control Valve Sizing, BWRS Equation of State : Natural Gas Thermodynamic Properties.
