Summary and Purpose
Our organization is seeking a highly qualified Operations Technician to be a member of our Houston, Transco Station 35 located in Houston, Texas. Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, the primary purpose of the Operations Technician is to be responsible for the safe monitoring, controlling, and operating of all natural gas pipelines and equipment within Station 35, and all Williams assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
:Maintain and operate all electrical natural gas compressor station equipment
:Accurately maintain and complete all maintenance records, service reports, and other required documents within Williams
:Operate and maintain meter stations, valves, pipes, pigging equipment, right:of:ways, and all other facilities as needed.
:Operates switchgear up to 5kv and disconnects 480 volt motors for maintenance functions
:Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities associated with compressor stations
:Maintain and troubleshoot all related subsystems which include: starting, stopping, safety shutdowns, and combustion controls
:Maintain and operate auxiliary equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, filters, instrumentation, controls, etc.).
:Repairs and calibrates flow, pressure, and temperature transmitters. (Honeywell, Rosemount, Motorola)
:Interface with technical services, government agencies, emergency planning committees, emergency responders, landowners, contractors, etc...
:Handle facility encroachment activities including pipe location, excavation, and inspection resulting from one:call notifications and/or direct calls.
:Respond to mandatory after hour work as needed for routine on:call rotations
:High School Diploma or equivalent
:Five (5) years natural gas pipeline, plant maintenance, and/or oil and gas experience
:Ability to wear safety gear, protective equipment, gloves, uniforms, and other articles of safety clothing or gear as required by OSHA,DOT, or other regulatory agencies.
:Ability to work after hours, on:call rotations, which may require some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
:Possess core technical skills related to Programmable Logix Controls (PLCs), (Allen Bradley line), PLC programming, HMI proficiencies, Wonderware, and field I/O devices
:Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
:Ability to work in both a team setting and individually with minimal supervision
:Demonstrates an intermediate knowledge of general computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), but has the willingness and ability to learn company specific programs
:Two:year technical degree instrumentation, electrical, mechanics, and/or related field.
:Seven (7) years natural gas pipeline, plant maintenance, and/or oil and gas experience
