Cake Decorator/Baker

Rice Epicurean Markets is searching for a cake decorator who has some experience baking breads, cakes, pastries, cookies and pies.
Job Function:
To provide and maintain excellent customer service and promote and sell items in the department. Introduce attractive and creative decorating ideas for cakes and pastries. Responsible for decorating cakes, cookies by selecting the best icings for the product. Uses and designs sugar molds to create borders, roses, shapes and figures objects for special order cakes, cookies, and pastries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Prepare and organize phone orders and tickets.
2.Keep the display cases stocked with decorated cakes and pastries.
3.Work with Catering Managers to complete orders.
4.Mix and blend icing colors for cakes and cookies.
5.Assist the bakery clerks with slicing, pricing and baking.
6.Keep bakery tables and bins stocked with fresh baked goods.
7.Shapes cakes to create different forms, tints mixtures using dyes.
8.Uses brushes, spatulas, icing bags and cutters to create decorative figures.
9.Verify invoices for accuracy.
10.Handles damaged and spoiled product according to policy.
11.Pull product for coolers and freezers for next day production.
12.Clean and sanitize equipment and utensils.
13.Take necessary steps to control shrink.
14.Prepare sampling trays to help sell new items.
15.Assist customers in See’s candy department when necessary.
16.Open/Close the bakery.
17.Uses suggestive selling techniques.
