Territory Sale Representatives manage the sale of the company's services throughout their designated territory. Sales activity is primarily through establishing and enhancing relationships with professional employee benefits advisors working with small to medium-sized employers and secondarily through direct sales to employers.

Territories generally consist of one to four states, depending on the geographic size and market potential of the applicable state(s). Territory Sales Representatives are supported by internal Sales Support Professionals located at the company's headquarters. Territory Sales Representatives are also provided a budget for required travel expenses and limited client entertainment. Mileage expenses for company travel are reimbursed at the prevailing federal rate.

Compensation includes significant base pay and commission opportunities (with declining commission guarantees in the first year) as well as a very competitive benefits package.

Territory Sales Representatives must be able to successfully:

develop relationships with and provide relevant company information to employee benefits professionals in order to obtain opportunities to provide the company's services to their clients;
work directly with current and prospective employer clients to obtain opportunities to provide new and/or additional services;
professionally represent the company when consulting with and supporting employee benefits professionals and employers during the sales process and during the term the company provides employers with administration services;
assist other company personnel in developing relevant and effective marketing and PR materials for use in sales and service processes;
conduct in-person and online training presentations to employers HR staff and Plan Participants as needed; and
assist the internal Sales Support Professional in maintaining contact management records related to potential, current, and past employee benefits professional and employer prospects.

Successful applicants for Territory Sale Representative positions must have the following qualifications and skills:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Three or more years professional sales experience
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to consistently service employer prospects across the assigned territory
Relentless sales follow-up skills and a passion for achieving and exceeding internal and external goals;
Sufficient organizational, technical and CRM management skills to succeed with infrequent in-person supervision;
A good working knowledge of health insurance and other employee benefits concepts;
Ability to learn basic legal concepts applicable to the services provided by the company;
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and to succeed even in challenging situations;
Ability to communicate employee benefits concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences; and
Will be supportive of team members in the performance of their duties.

The position will also involve some overnight travel within the territory as well as occasional overnight travel to the company's headquarters and other locations for regional and national industry events. Overnight travel is not expected to exceed an average of 1 night per week but may be 3 or even 4 nights in a single week in rare circumstances.
