Miller Outdoor Theater celebrates the decade of big hair, shoulder pads and men in eyeliner with a three-night series of Brat Pack Movies this Tues.-Thurs. The stars will be out (overhead and on-screen), but see if you can spot the fresh-faced versions of all the A-list names in these classics. Playing August 21 through August 23, all showings begin at 8:15 p.m.

The event opens with chick-flick staple “Sixteen Candles,” starring 80s darling Molly Ringwald as a socially-challenged teen with a monster crush on the coolest guy in school (Michael Schoeffling). In the midst of the craziness surrounding her sister’s wedding, Ringwald’s Samantha is forgotten and so is her landmark 16th birthday. How does it all end? Well, no spoilers here, but let’s just say this teen dreams comedy concludes with a full cake-top of 16 candles.Next up on the August 22 is “The Breakfast Club,” another Ringwald-led favorite, again costarring Hall along with Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez and Judd Nelson. The film centers around one Saturday detention session that brings together an unlikely mix of high school stereotypes from different social circles. This lovable and oh-so-familiar group of teens forms a predictable but hilarious bond, breaking rules and norms to prove that opposites really do attract. Last but not least on August 23, “Pretty in Pink” returns Ringwald to the role she played best, an awkward and loveable outcast nursing a crush on the All-American boy. James Spader, Annie Potts, Gina Gershon and Kristy Swanson make up much of the supporting cast, albeit not in their most recognizable appearances, making this film a treasure-chest of up-and-coming Hollywood talents.
