This special tribute program will present many of Ella's original big band arrangements performed by the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and featuring international vocalist Delores King Williams on Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Dubbed “The First Lady of Song,” Ella Fitzgerald was the most popular female jazz singer in the U.S. for more than half a century. The repertoire chosen for the tribute pulls from arrangements done for Ella in the 1940s and 1950s, now in the Smithsonian and Ella Fitzgerald Charitable Foundation archives. These arrangements have not heard by live audiences in over 40 years.

Free tickets for the covered seating area are available at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office on the day of the performance between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. There is a limit of four tickets per person over age 16, while they last.
